Weighty
Weight speaks of load or burden. It's not often a delight to have weights on that's why the Bible enjoins us to lay aside every weight so that we can run the race that's before us with patience. What I have found out however is that we are either under a light weight or a heavy weight. Even God himself is under some form of weight.
God's kind of weight is called glory. The word translated glory in most of its occurence in the Bible can also be translated as weight. That word is often translated also as honor.
In Ps. 50:23- Scripture says that who ever praises God glorifies him. This mean when we praise God we put weights on God. The implication of this is that when you praise God there's some form of weight that tilts the balance in your favor. So it should be understood that praise is not just a means of entertainment or appreciating God alone but a weapon of warfare. Several times in the Old Testament God changed the situation of people because they put weights on Him. No wonder in Acts 16 when Paul and Silas praised God there was an earthquake. They had loaded the heavens with so much weight that the scale tilted in their favor and the earth trembled when this happened.
To lead your generation or be someone significant in the Kingdom of God, you need the scale in your favor and one of the ways to ensure the scale tilts in your favor is to send praises to God.
